1) David, der Ältere, englischer Maler, * Deritend (bei Birmingham) 29. 4. 1783, ✝ Harborne (bei Birmingham) 7. 6. 1859; Studienaufenthalte in den Niederlanden und Frankreich; gilt mit seinen Aquarellen und Ölskizzen (Genre- und Landschaftsmotive) als ein Vorläufer des Impressionismus.
 
 2) Jean, amerikanischer Sänger (Tenor), * Gadsden (Ala.) 14. 1. 1922; hatte sein europäisches Debüt 1954 in Spoleto, wurde 1959 Mitglied des Nationaltheaters Mannheim, trat u. a. an der Mailänder Scala und der Metropolitan Opera in New York sowie bei Festspielen (Bayreuth, Aix-en-Provence) auf. Er wurde besonders als Verdi- und Wagner-Interpret bekannt.
 
 3) Patrick (Pat), irischer Politiker, * Dublin 28. 11. 1952; arbeitete 1976-82 als Dozent an der Universität von Limerick, 1982-86 als Nachrichtenreporter und politischer Moderator beim irischen Fernsehsender RTE in Dublin; war 1986-89 Generalsekretär der Progressiven Demokraten und 1992-94 Mitglied des irischen Repräsentantenhauses (Dáil Eireann); ab 1989 Mitglied des Europäischen Parlaments. 1994-98 Vizepräsident und seit 1998 Präsident der ELDR (Europäische Liberale, Demokraten und Reformer), wurde er im Januar 2002 als Nachfolger von N. Fontaine zum Präsidenten des Europäischen Parlaments gewählt.
